Bainville Girls Defeat Ray 56-41

Bainville’s girls’ basketball team got off to a solid start and defeated Ray, N.D., 56-41, during a tournament in Watford City, N.D., on Thursday, Dec. 11.

The Bulldogs gained a 13-5 lead in the first quarter and held a 27-21 half-time advantage.

Bainville accounted for 15 points in the third quarter for a 42-27 margin.

Hailey Berwick led Bainville’s attack with 23 points.

Also reaching double figures were Jaylynn Bjorge with 11 and Addison Hansen with 10 points.

Rounding out the scoring were Lila Butikofer with five, Chandi Johnson with four and Jodi Albus with three.

Andee Barman scored 10 points for Ray.

The Bulldogs will host Terry on Friday, Dec. 19, and MonDak on Saturday, Dec. 20.
