Steppler Runs To All-State Honors
Culbertson’s Anna Steppler, a freshman, earned All-State honors by taking eighth place at the Class C state cross country meet in Helena on Saturday, Oct. 25.
Steppler finished with a time of 21:22.90.
Granite’s Addi Lilyquist was the state winner with a time of 20:13.96.
Drummond won the girls’ title with 15 points. North Star placed second with 22 points and Cascade took third with 39 points.
Culbertson /Bainville placed eighth with 77 points. Also placing for Culbertson/ Bainville’s girls were Audrey Swallers in 40th place with a time of 24:28.54. Rebekah Ellerkamp finished in 50th place at 25:07.25.
Bella Petersen took 59th with a time of 25:53.91. Jade Lonebear placed 73rd at 26:48.67.
Froid/Lake Leah Murray placed 96th at 30:09.84.
In the boys’ division, Froid/ Lake’s Lane Bakken finished in 17th place at 18:58.51.
Culbertson/Bainville’s Cal Steppler placed 21st with a time of 19:19.75.
Arlie Purvis took 67th at 21:03.28. Gunner Glas placed 72nd at 21:10.83. Soren Batt was 87th at 21:37.76. Logan Telck took 131st at 24:48.30.
Froid/Lake’s Easton Marottek finished in 111st place with a time of 23:09.54.
Drummond’s Dawson Parke ran the course in 16:57.35 to earn the individual championship. Cascade won the team title with 18 points followed by Plenty Coups with 32 and Manhattan Christian with 47 points.
