The Froid/Lake Red Hawks put up a strong fight in the first half but lost at home against Terry, 49-26, during six-man football action on Saturday, Oct. 4.

After Terry reached the end zone on its first possession of the conference contest, the Red Hawks hit paydirt late in the quarter when Aaron Orozco threw the ball across the field to Carsen Kelm and the play resulted in a 68-yard touchdown to cut the margin to 8-6.

The Terriers marched deep inside Froid/Lake territory early in the second quarter. With a first down at the one, the Terriers fumbled the ball and it was recovered by Froid/Lake’s Teegan Fossum in the end zone.

Terry’s defense, however, forced a punt to give the Terriers great field position. A three-yard run by Liam Jackson was good for a touchdown with 6:38 left in the half. Milo Sackman passed to Luc Browning for the conversion and a 15-6 lead.

The Red Hawks responded by using the powerful running of Eddie Orozco to drive down to the Terry eight. On first down, the junior scored at the six-minute mark. A. Orozco kicked the conversion to close the margin to 15-14.

Terry then drove into Froid/Lake territory. Good defensive plays by Owen Logan and Cody Olson forced a fourth-down situation, but the Terriers reached the end zone on a nine-yard pass play from Sackman to Logan Murr.

The Red Hawks accounted for a 45-yard scoring drive to cut the gap to 23-20. E. Orozco did the scoring on a fiveyard run with 59 seconds left in the half.

Terry increased its advantage to 30-20 on an 11-yard pass from Sackman to Murr with only 14 seconds left in the half.

The Terriers took control in the second half by outscoring Froid/Lake by a 19-6 margin. After Terry gained a 41-20 lead, the Red Hawks scored their lone touchdown of the second half on a 35yard pass play from Rylan Young to Olson.
