Cowboys Drop Game In Circle

The Culbertson Cowboys lost a tough football game in Circle on Friday, Sept. 19.

Circle took control in the second half for a 38-14 league victory.

“The difference in the game was we had five drives in the red zone that came away with no points,” Culbertson Coach Brian Manning said. “It was a hard-fought game. Circle’s red zone defense stiffened up.”

Culbertson’s first score came on a 65-yard ran by quarterback Brooks Solem with 4:14 remaining in the opening quarter. Circle led 8-6 at the end of the period.

Circle added two touchdowns in the second quarter for a 24-6 half-time advantage.

The Cowboys reached the end zone in the third quarter on a 49-yard dash by Solem. On the conversion, Solem passed to Aden Drake.

The Wildcats, however, held a 38-14 lead at the end of the third quarter.

Culbertson travels to Plentywood on Friday, Sept. 26, for a league game.
