Runners Earn Honors At Meet


The Culbertson/Bainville cross country team had individuals in the top 10 for both the boys’ and girls’ divisions during the season-opening Wolf Point Invitational on Friday, Aug. 29.
Culbertson’s freshman Anna Steppler finished in fifth place with a time 23:51.29. The winning time was 22:00.65 by Poplar’s freshman Journey Gourneau.
Culbertson’s Rebekah Ellerkamp took 14th place at 25:55.14. Jade LoneBear took 22nd place at 27:17.61.
In the boys’ division, Cal Steppler ran the course in 19:24.11 for eighth place. The top time was 17:30.57 by Plentywood’s Dean Sampsen.
Logan Telck took 41st at 25:07.47. Gunner Glas was 43rd at 25:58.85.
Soren Batt finished 46th at 27:50.99. Colton Glas placed 49th at 28:37.96.
Froid/Lake runners also competed at the meet.
In the girls’ division, sophomore Leah Murray finished in 33rd place with a time of 30:41.84.
Lane Bakken placed 30th at 22:48.69 in the boys’ division. Bryce Murray ran the course in 23:05.13.
