Bainville Volleyball Squad Hopes To Continue Winning Ways
Coming off their best volleyball season in school history, the Bainville Bulldogs are shooting for more success this season.
“We lost some important pieces, but we worked hard this summer,” Coach Kallie Clarke said. “I think they are excited to work hard and see where it goes.”
Returning starters for the Bulldogs include senior middle blocker Addison Hansen, senior outside hitter Hailey Berwick, senior middle blocker Chandi Johnson, junior defensive specialist Siena Martinez, senior setter Lila Butikofer, junior Casey Myers and junior Johnna Ryder.
“We have a lot of up and coming girls to fill spots,” Clarke said. “I feel good about the season.”
The Bulldogs have 19 players including six in the eighth grade. “We have good numbers, but a lot of young kids too,” the coach added.
Berwick is a returning All-State performer and Butikofer was a second team All-Conference pick last year.
“When you win and have success it obviously gives people more confidence,” Clarke said. “But we still have to put in the work.”
After realignment, District 2C consists of Bainville, Brockton, Culbertson, Froid/Lake, Richey/Lambert, Savage and MonDak. The district tournament will be played in Culbertson. The top three squads will advance to the divisional tournament in Sidney.
The Eastern C includes defending state champion Circle. North Country and Scobey are also anticipated to be powers.
