Community Foundation Presents Donations Community Foundation Presents Donations

The Roosevelt County Community Foundation presented three donations to area non-profit organizations last week. Recipients included $1,000 for the Wolf Point Pound Puppies, $1,000 for the Roosevelt Medical Center and nearly $900 for the Northeast Montana Health Services Charitable Foundation.

Officers for the Roosevelt County Community Foundation are president Ruth Boysun and treasurer Karen Jeide. They have each been involved with the foundation for 27 years.

“It’s something to do to help our area,” Boysun said of why they keep active in the program.

Each year, 501(c)(3) organizations can apply for a donation from the community foundation by contacting Jeide. “It’s a fairly simple application process,” Jeide explained.

Jaimee Green, marketing and foundation director for the Roosevelt Medical Center, said the funds received will update and spruce up swing bedrooms at the facility in Culbertson.

Beth Olsen, representative for Pound Puppies, reported that the donation will help pay for fencing and insulation for a puppy home.

Brandi Wilkinson, executive director for the NEMHS charitable foundation, said the funds will pay for expenses regarding a transport van at Faith Lutheran Home.

The Roosevelt County Community Foundation is part of the Montana Community Foundation. Since 1988, the Montana Community Foundation has worked to create permanent philanthropy and build stronger communities.
