The Bainville girls used a team effort to score 112 points and take home the second-place trophy from the District 2C track meet held in Lambert on Tuesday, May 6.

The Bulldogs finished with 112 points. Richey/Lambert topped the field with 120 points. Savage placed third with 111 points.

Bainville’s Elsie Wilson scored the second most individual points and teammate Hailey Berwick tied with Savage’s Camry Conradsen for the third most individual points. Richey/Lambert’s Jolee Klempel won the Phil Robinson memorial award for scoring the most points in the female division.

Wilson finished first in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 49.23 seconds. The senior finished second in the 100 at 13.03 seconds, second in the 200 with a personal best of 26.93 seconds, third in the triple jump at 34-0 and third in the long jump at 16-4.

Berwick finished first in the 800 with a personal best time of 2:40.28. The junior placed second in the 400 at 1:01.10, second in the javelin at 96-7, fourth in the 100 at 13.31 seconds and fourth in the 200 at 27.39 seconds.

Addison Hansen, a junior, earned first-place honors in the discus at 99-6. She placed second at the shot put at 32-5.

Lila Butikofer took second in the discus with a mark of 92-2.

Miah Pippenger placed fourth in the shot put at 306, fifth in the javelin at 85-5 and qualified for divisional by taking eighth in the discus at 77-5.

Casey Myers earned fourth place in the javelin with a mark of 85-5.

Both of Bainville’s girls’ relay teams finished in fifth place. The 1600-meter relay team consisting of Butikofer, Myers, Pippenger and Hannah Tholborn posted a time of 5:13.71. The 400-meter relay team featuring Myers, Johnna Ryder, Butikofer and Pippenger had a time of 58.49 seconds.

Bainville’s boys also enjoyed a strong meet as the Bulldogs placed fourth in the team standings with 52 points.

Kaiden Holmes was a double winner for the Bulldogs. The junior finished first in the 800 at 2:12.55 and first in the 400 with a personal best time of 53.79 seconds.

Rowan Wilson finished first in the 1600 with a personal best time of 4:54.07. The junior took third in the 800 at 2:15.22, fourth in the shot put at 39-0 and sixth in the 400 at 57.07 seconds.

The 1600-meter relay team featuring Parker Berwick, Austin Eveland, R. Wilson and Holmes finished first at 3:52.35.

The 400-meter relay team of P. Berwick, Kyn Beery, Owen Theige and Kaston Hofer took sixth at 55.89 seconds.

Taking seventh were Eveland in the 800 and Evan Anderson in the 1600. Taking eighth were Anderson in the 800 and Eveland in the 1600.
