Junior High Track Athletes Place At Sidney Meet
Track athletes from Culbertson, Bainville and Froid-Lake were among the participants at a large junior high meet in Sidney on Saturday, April 6.
Sander Williams led Culbertson’s boys by placing third in the discus with a best of 82-8.
Arlie Purvis placed fifth in the discus at 82-11.
Gerald Happ ran to a fourth-place finish in the 100 with a time of 13.71 seconds.
Culbertson’s 1600-meter relay team finished in sixth place at 4:47.55. Running the relay were Cord Snyder, Adam Ellerkamp, Jaden Iron Moccasin and Happ.
For Culbertson’s girls, Emilynn Powell cleared 4-6 for top honors in the high jump.
Anna Steppler earned third place in the 1600 at 6:26.35. Charity Wilbanks took third in the seventh-grade discus at 62-5.
Harper Anderson finished fifth in the 100 at 14.68 seconds. Aubry Salvevold was sixth in the 800 at 3:11.55.
The 800-meter relay team of Steppler, Harper Anderson, Ella Anderson and Salvevold placed second at 2:22.96.
The 1600-meter relay team of Ally Simonsen, Audrey Swallers, H. Anderson and Salvevold took sixth at 5:31.49.
Bainville’s Parker Berwick placed fourth in the shot put with a best of 32-4.
Froid/Lake’s Joelle Davidson finished first in the 800 at 2:53.87. She cleared 4-4 for third place in the high jump.
Camri Salvevold took sixth in the discus with a mark of 58-4.
Froid/Lake’s boys placed in two relay races. The 800-meter relay team consisting of Jhett Davidson, Alex Eylander, Bryce Murray and Aaron Orozco took second in 2:16.51. The 400-meter relay team featuring Davidson, Eylander, Orozco and Murray placed fifth at 1:02.01.
