Pippenger Helps Bulldogs Gain More Success

Brecklyn Pippenger’s ability on the court helped Bainville’s girls reach new heights during her senior year.

One of her highlights was when the Bulldogs qualified for the divisional basketball tournament. It was the first time that the Bulldogs advanced to divisionals since 2006.

“It was extremely special, especially being my senior year,” Pippenger said. “I’ve never been able to experience that before.”

She said she will remember fondly both the celebration on the court and in the locker room after the victory over Savage that clinched a divisional berth.

Although she enjoyed basketball this season more than any other year, her favorite sport remains volleyball. Pippenger was selected to the All-Conference first team as a senior.

“I like the game in general and the people that I play with,” she explained.

She has been playing volleyball since fourth or fifth grade and it’s always been her favorite.

One added plus is being able to be a teammate of her younger sister Miah, who is a junior.

“I love it. It’s fun watching her grow too,” Brecklyn said.

The senior is still recovering from a knee injury suffered during the last day of the Eastern C divisional basketball tournament, but she is hopeful to play collegiate volleyball.

Pippenger, who is secretary for Bainville’s student council, also keeps busy by working at both the Wild Calf Cafe and RDJ Trucking.

Pippenger plans to study business in college and then go to a cosmetology school.
