Cowgirls Win In Fairview

The Culbertson Cowgirls accounted for 28 points in the fourth quarter to knock off Fairview, 43-32, on the road on Friday, Jan. 14.

After trailing 9-6 at the end of the first quarter, Culbertson gained a 10-9 half-time advantage.

The Cowgirls gained a 15-13 lead in the third quarter.

Makena Hauge led the Cowgirls with 20 points. The junior hit all 12 of her freethrow attempts. Rounding out Culbertson’s scoring were Destiny Thompson with 12, Megan Granbois with seven and Alicyn Ator with four points.

Emily Johnson scored 13 points for Fairview. Megan Asbeck and Macy Tjelde added five points each for the Warriors.

The Cowgirls hit 21 of their 27 free-throw attempts during the victory. The Warriors made 11 of their 25 tries.
