Bulls Post Four Victories During Glendive Tournament
The Post #49 Bulls went through the Glendive baseball tournament undefeated during the weekend.
The Bulls crushed the Miles City Colts, 9-1, in the opening round. The Bulls gained the upper-hand with three runs in the bottom of the first inning.
In the third inning, the Bulls added three runs for a 6-0 lead. The squad tallied two more runs in the fourth.
Issac Johnson and Dylan Tabbert led the Bulls with two hits each. Zander Dean scored three runs. Johnson and Payton Hauge each scored twice.
Having two runs batted in each were Johnson and Braeden Romo.
Johnson pitched four innings and Hauge pitched two frames for the Bulls.
The Bulls then downed Glendive B by a 14-4 final. The Bulls jumped out to an 8-0 lead en route to the victory. The team accounted for six more runs in the sixth inning.
Tabbert finished with three hits. Johnson connected for two doubles. Also with two hits were Easton Tommerup and Hauge.
Scoring two runs each were Tommerup, Johnson, Hauge and Tabbert. Tommerup and Johnson each knocked in two runs.
Walker Ator and Romo each threw three innings for the Bulls.
The Bulls fought off the Glendive All-Stars by a 10-9 margin.
The Bulls jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning. A double by Colter Oie highlighted the frame.
After scoring two runs in the fourth and three more in the fifth, the Bulls held a 10-2 advantage.
Glendive battled back with two runs in the bottom of the fifth and five in the sixth for a 10-9 game.
Johnson allowed just one hit and struck-out two batters in the seventh inning for a save.
Leading the Bulls with two hits each were Oie and Romo. Oie drove in four runs during the contest. Parker Sinks scored three runs. Dean and Johnson each scored twice.
Pitching for the Bulls were Justice Bengochea, Tommerup, Sinks, Hauge and Johnson.
The pitching of Oie and Hauge held Glendive B scoreless as the Bulls earned an 11-0 victory on Sunday, July 11. Oie allowed only three hits during four innings on the mound. Hauge fanned two batters in the last inning.
The Bulls scored four runs in the first, three more in the second and four more in the third inning.
Leading the Bulls’ nine-hit attack were Dean, Romo and Oie with two hits each.
Scoring two runs each were Tommerup, Dean and Bengochea. Oie batted in two runs and had a double.
The Bulls will travel to play the Billings Blue Jays on Friday, July 16, and Billings Cardinals on Sunday, July 18.
The district tournament is scheduled in Glasgow on July 22-25.
