Dethman Receives Honors At Tourney

Froid/Lake’s senior Sydney Dethman was selected to the All-Star team for the Hi-Line Invitational basketball tournament held in Havre.

Dethman helped the Class C squad win the tournament’s championship. Class C’s girls downed Class B, 61-49, in the title game. Dethman scored nine points in the victory.

Class C defeated Class A, 81-48, in the semi-final round. Dethman scored 13 points in that contest.

Dethman also won the three-point shooting championship at the tournament.

Aspen Giese of Fort Benton was selected the tournament’s most valuable player. Also on the All-Star team were Harlem’s Taya Trottier, Helena’s Kylie Lantz, Helena Capital’s Dani Bartsch, Billings Central’s Mya Hanson, Billings Central’s Isabelle Erickson, Big Timber’s Hailee Brandon, Turner’s Shyan Krass and Forsyth’s Lindsey Hein.

In the boys’ division, Class AA defeated Class A, 63-38, in the title game. Class C edged Class B, 67-65, in the consolation game.

Drew Wyman of Great Falls and Tony Frolich-Fair of Missoula Sentinel were selected co-MVPs. Also voted to the All-Star team were Scobey’s Caden Handran, Fort Benton’s Hayden Diekhans, Missoula Loyola’s Will Burns, Huntley Project’s Noah Brouchard, Billings Central’s Malachi Stewart, Laurel’s Colter Bales, Great Falls’ Levi Torgerson, Billings Skyview’s Payton Sanders and Frenchtown’s Brandon Finnley.
