Culbertson faced strong competition at the season- opening track meet in Glasgow on Thursday, April 1, but scored its share of points at the 22-team competition.

The Cowgirls accounted for 13.5 points at the Glasgow Invitational for 15th place. Hinsdale topped the team standings with 52 points followed by Havre with 51 and Plentywood with 50 points.

Highlighting Culbertson’s efforts was a third-place finish by the 400-meter relay team. The relay consisting of Autumn Bergum, Makena Hauge, Megan Granbois and Abbey Granbois had a time of 55.64 seconds.

A. Granbois cleared 4-10 to earn third place in the high jump. Hauge took sixth in the high jump by clearing 4-8.

Bergum finished sixth in the 100 with a time of 14.32 seconds.

Hauge had a best of 13-1 for ninth place in the long jump.

The 1600-meter relay team of Bergum, A. Granbois, M. Granbois and Kayli Olson finished eighth with a time of 4:57.67.

The Cowboys scored four points for 16th place. Hinsdale took first with 76 points while Havre was second and Wolf Point took third.

Colby Olson, a senior, cleared 5-6 in the high jump for fourth place.

The boys’ 400-meter relay team of Wyatt Snyder, Jacob Snyder, Kyler Kempton and Payton Perkins finished 10th in 49.21 seconds.

Kyler Kempton, a freshman, took 12th in the long jump, 13th in the shot put and 14th in the discus.
