Bainville gave Bulldog fans plenty to cheer about in its opening-round playoff game, building a 30-point halftime lead and keeping Valier off the scoreboard in a 57-0 victory.

The Bulldogs will travel to Grass Range to face Grass Range/Winnett at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, in the next round of the playoffs.

Evan Anderson threw six touchdown passes against Valier, including four to Parker Berwick, while Kyn Beery caught a touchdown pass, ran for two more scores and intercepted a pass. A blocked punt and another interception rounded out a strong team performance that kept Bainville’s season going.

Anderson connected with Berwick for the opening touchdown with 6:01 remaining in the first quarter, putting the Bulldogs ahead 6-0.

The pair teamed up again with 2:27 left in the period, extending the lead to 12-0. Bainville carried that advantage into the second quarter, then continued building on it.

Haedyn Wills blocked a Valier punt to give the Bulldogs possession. A long completion from Anderson to Rylan Iverson moved Bainville to the 1-yard line, setting up another Anderson touchdown pass to Berwick. With 6:42 remaining before halftime, the Bulldogs led 18-0.

Bainville added two more touchdowns just 30 seconds apart late in the half. Anderson found Beery for a score with 2:40 remaining, then connected with Bridger Chandler with 2:10 left to send the Bulldogs into halftime ahead 30-0.

The scoring continued after the break. Beery ran for a touchdown with 4:57 remaining in the third quarter, and Berwick followed with a successful conversion kick to make it 38-0.

Anderson and Berwick connected for their fourth touchdown of the game with 2:26 left in the third. A conversion pass from Anderson to Iverson pushed the advantage to 45-0.

The Bulldogs continued making plays on defense, too. Beery intercepted a pass and later scored on another touchdown run, giving Bainville a 51-0 lead with 7:14 remaining in the fourth quarter.

An interception by Matthew Sorenson added another takeaway before Tannen Traeger scored the Bulldogs’ final touchdown on a run with 1:22 left.

From the early Anderson- to-Berwick connections to Traeger’s fourth-quarter touchdown, Bainville found contributions throughout its lineup. Wills’ blocked punt and interceptions by Beery and Sorenson helped complete an afternoon in which the Bulldogs made plays on offense, defense and special teams.

The shutout sends Bainville into another week of playoff preparation, with players, coaches and hometown supporters now looking ahead to Saturday’s trip to Grass Range.
