The Bainville Bulldogs enjoyed an outstanding day at the District 2C track meet on Tuesday, May 12, in Lambert. The Bulldogs placed second in the boys’ standings with 144 points and third in the girls’ standings with 80 points.

Kaiden Holmes, a senior, was a double-winner for Bainville’s boys. Holmes ran the 400-meter dash in 52.54 seconds and the 800 in 2:12.96 for the titles.

Also earning firsts for the boys were Rowan Wilson with a time of 4:57.83 in the 1600 and Bridger Chandler at 49.64 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles.

Chandler added a second- place showing in the 110-meter hurdles in 21.51 seconds. Also placing second were Austin Eveland in 51.7 seconds for the 300-meter hurdles, Wilson with a mark of 38-5 in the shot put, Parker Berwick with a best of 122-8 in the discus and Evan Anderson with a mark of 17-9 in the long jump and 37-11 in the triple jump.

Taking third were Eveland by clearing 5-2 in the high jump, and Wilson with a best of 144-11 in the javelin and a time of 2:18.32 in the 800.

Placing fourth were Holmes with a time of 24.56 in the 200, Berwick with a mark of 35-2 in the shot put and Anderson with a mark of 127-4 in the javelin.

Taking fifth were Owen Theige with a mark of 30-1 in the triple jump, Eveland with a mark of 16-1 in the long jump, Gunner Glas with a time of 13:23.15 in the 3200 and Keagan Vaira with a time of 25.0 seconds in the 200.

Placing sixth were Vaira with a time of 55.27 seconds in the 400 and Telck at 15:19.52 in the 3200, Both of Bainville’s boys’ relay teams finished second. The 400-meter relay team of Vaira, Holmes, Berwick and Wilson had a school-record time of 46.31 seconds. The 1600-meter relay team consisting of Vaira, Eveland, Anderson and Berwick finished with a time of 3:58.57.

Highlighting the day for Bainville’s girls were firstplace performances by seniors Hailey Berwick and Addison Hansen.
