Cowboys Fare Well At Sidney Meet
Culbertson placed sixth in the boys’ standings and 11th in the girls’ standings during the Sidney Invitational track meet held on Friday, May 8.
The Cowboys finished the meet with 36 points. The top three teams were Glendive with 103, Sidney with 95.5 and Lustre Christian with 56 points.
Brooks Solem was a double winner for the Cowboys. The junior earned first in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.84 seconds and first in the javelin with a season best mark of 167-1. Solem cleared 6-0 for third place in the high jump.
The 400-meter relay team featuring Harrison Green, Ian Snyder, Mauricio Mena and Trust Magwabe finished in fourth place with a time of 46.25 seconds.
Snyder cleared 6-0 for fourth place in the high jump. Taking sixth were Cal Steppler with a time of 11:12.21 in the 3200 and Solem with a mark of 41-11 in the shot put.
The Cowgirls scored 10 points at the meet. Miles City won the team title with 117 points.
Emma Berwick earned second place in the shot put with a personal best of 34-8.
Anna Steppler ran the 800 in a personal best time of 2:33.9 for fifth place.
