Athletes Place At Top 10 Meet
Culbertson’s Brooks Solem accounted for a standout day at the 44th annual Norm Girard Top 10 track meet in Sidney on Tuesday, May 5.
Solem, a junior, came away with two first-place awards at the meet. Solem finished first in the 110-meter hurdles at 16.87 seconds and took first in the javelin with a mark of 165-0.
Solem cleared 5-10 in the high jump for third place. He was fifth in the shot put at 44-0.
Plenny Williams earned third place in the javelin with a season best of 153-10. Ian Snyder cleared 5-10 for fourth place in the high jump.
In the girls’ division, freshman Anna Steppler finished second in the 3200 with a time of 12:39.94.
Bainville
Senior Kaiden Holmes scored two second places against the tough competition on Tuesday. Holmes finished second in the 400 with a time of 52.84 seconds and second in the 800 at 2:04.34.
Addison Hansen placed third in the discus with a mark of 105-6.
Hailey Berwick ran the 400 in 1:01.62 for fourth place.
Froid/Lake
The best result for the Red Hawks was Lane Bakken taking fifth in the 1600 with a time of 4:50.89.
