Culbertson Track Athletes Score at Fairview Invitational

The Culbertson Cowboys scored 75 points to earn third place in the team standings at the Fairview Invitational track meet on Monday, April 20.

The top two teams were Richardton/Taylor, N.D., with 101 points and Lustre Christian with 88.5 points.

Brooks Solem led the Cowboys by earning first place in the javelin with a mark of 165-1. The junior cleared 6-2 for second place in the high jump.

Solem earned third in the shot put at 43-7 and sixth in the discus at 11611. He was second in the 110-meter hurdles at 16.78 seconds.

Trust Magwaba finished first in the 100 with a time of 11.61 seconds. Ian Snyder placed fifth at 12.02 seconds. Magwaba earned first in the 200 at 23.92 seconds.

The boys’ 400-meter relay team featuring Mauricio Mena, Cord Snyder, Magwaba and Harrison Green finished fifth with a time of 4:03.52.

Green took second place in the 400 with a time of 54.03 seconds.

Cal Steppler was fourth in the 3200 at 11:40.29.

The Cowgirls accounted for 19 points at the meet for 12th place. The top two teams were Richey/Lambert with 96 points and Circle with 65 points.

Anna Steppler finished third in the 800 at 2:41.24 and second in the 1600 at 5:53.29.

Emma Berwick placed sixth in the shot put with a best of 32-08.

The 400-meter relay team of Emilynn Powell, Kalia Featherston, Ally Simonsen and Bella Peterson placed fifth at 58.83 seconds. The 1600-meter relay team of Simonsen, Petersen, Featherston and Steppler took fifth at 4:52.54.
