Barbara Wivholm
Barbara Anne (Crohn) Wivholm, 92, of Plentywood died July 13, 2025.
She was born March 20, 1933, in Plentywood to Henry J. and Ingeborg B. Knudsen Crohn of the Volmer - Dagmar community. She was the oldest of three children. She grew up on the Crohn ranch. She attended Franklin Elementary School and graduated from Medicine Lake High School.
She married John Wivholm on Sept. 26, 1950. They raised seven children and she was a stay-at-home mom until the children got older. She enjoyed combine rides at harvest and taking meals to the fields. She was meticulous with her floors and lawn. She could spot a crumb or stick many feet away — she had wonderful eyesight.
A very dedicated fan, she attended Honker and Redhawk games and listened on the radio when she could. She also took some adult education classes of calligraphy and exercise.
She worked the lunch counter at Lake Bowl when bowling became the popular sport. She also worked at the Laketonian restaurant and did housekeeping at Sheridan Memorial Nursing Home. She was active in the Union Congregational Church from Sunday school with her children through Women’s Ladies Aid.
She was a charter member of the VFW Auxiliary in Medicine Lake and served as treasurer for many years. Senior Citizens and Red Hats were a fun time to socialize in the later years. She gathered news items for the Plentywood Herald and reported the Medicine Lake weather
