The Wolf Point Yellow Jackets opened their season with an 18-8 comeback victory over Malta at home on Wednesday, April 30.
The Yellow Jackets fell behind 7-1 during the opening two innings.
Oryan Burshia, a 12-yearold, then allowed just one run during his three innings on the mound.
Keyden Beston led Wolf Point’s offensive attack with three hits.
A defensive highlight for the Yellow

The Poplar Indians hosted a golf invitational at the Wolf Point Airport Golf Course on Thursday, May 1.
In the boys’ division, Malta’s Regan Stuart earned medalist honors by shooting a 77.
Poplar’s Navarjo Escarcega and Kaniel Ricker tied for sixth place with 86s.
Lukas Young of Poplar shot a 97 to tie for 20th place. Blake Lambert tied for 25th place with a 99. Gavyn Grainger

Poplar’s Kaniel Ricker earned first place in the triple jump with a mark of 394. Teammate Ryder Olson placed third in the event with a personal best of 36-0. Olson finished second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.94 seconds.

“We got quite a bit of tennis in with our very young team,” Coach Dan Horsmon said. “The girls played a lot of close and long matches, prevailed in some and as usual got better. We’re spending the next couple of weeks getting ready for divisionals in Glendive.”
