Poplar’s wrestlers came away with two individual championships during the Glasgow Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 10. Angelina Escarcega won the title in the girls’ division at 107 pounds. Gorder Pins College Opponent

Freshman Jazmin Gorder of Poplar is off to a great start for Minot State College’s women’s wrestling program. Gorder earned the first pin for the new women’s wrestling program during the Beavers’ home debut. During the Waldorf Open tournament held in Forest City, Iowa, she placed sixth at 116 pounds with a 3-3 record.

Bearcubs Drop Games Against MonDak

The Frazer Bearcubs dropped both of their basketball games against MonDak on Saturday, Dec. 10. In the girls’ contest, the Bearcubs lost by a 60-21 final. The Bearcubs trailed by only a 7-5 margin at the end of the opening quarter, but the Thunder struck for 22 points in the second quarter for a 29-11 lead.
