Commissioners Approve Hiring Of Sheriff’s Deputy

The Roosevelt County commissioners approved the hiring of a new deputy for the sheriff’s office during their meeting on Monday, Aug. 28. Ryan Zimmerman was hired as a full-time deputy. His first day on duty will be Friday, Sept. 1. He is certified in the state of North Dakota and will need to only attend the two-week equivalency course to be Montana certified. Crew To Continue Pouring Concrete

This week, the Montana Department of Transportation and Knife River will continue pouring concrete for curbs, sidewalks and driveways throughout the project area. During the week of Aug. 28, work will occur Monday through Thursday, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. Work will be paused over the weekend for the Labor Day holiday and resume the following Tuesday, Sept.

Man Dies When Crash Creates Vehicle Fire

An unidentified man died in a three-vehicle crash when his vehicle went on fire on U.S. Highway 2 west of Wolf Point on Saturday night. According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the male was driving a Mazda MZ6 westbound on the eastbound lane to cause the crash that occurred at about 8:30 p.m. near mile marker 584.
