Commissioners Approve Hiring Of Sheriff’s Deputy

The Roosevelt County commissioners approved the hiring of a new deputy for the sheriff’s office during their meeting on Monday, Aug. 28.

Ryan Zimmerman was hired as a full-time deputy. His first day on duty will be Friday, Sept. 1. He is certified in the state of North Dakota and will need to only attend the two-week equivalency course to be Montana certified.

Commissioners also approved the hiring of road department employees Roger Chambers and Lary Pearson.

The resignation of county legal assistant Erica Fyfe was accepted. In her resignation letter, Fyfe offered her services to train a replacement.

Commissioner Gary Macdonald thanked Fyfe for her time of service.

Also resigning was Elise Akers from the detention center.

Macdonald made a motion to accept the resignation and thanked her for her time working for the county.

Commissioners approved minutes from a special public meeting held on Aug. 21, to discuss road resolutions. Commissioners said two visitors attended the meeting.

Roads covered included sections of county roads 1031, 2042, 2041, 1030, 2039, 2040, 1035, 1036, 2038, 2036, 2035, 1040, 2030, 1044, 2032 and 1045.
