Jack Svendsen

Jack William Svendsen, 76, died Dec. 25, 2022, in Phoenix, Ariz. He was born June 28, 1946, in Williston, N.D., to Oscar and Maude (Kincaid) Svendsen, the youngest of three, James and Jane Jeppe. Jack grew up in Froid. He attended NMC and the U of M. He married Judy Mossestad in 1966. They had one daughter, Jody Lynn. He was employed by several Montana banks during a 56-year career.

Bainville Girls Win Game In Lustre

After a close first quarter, Bainville’s girls’ basketball team used its quickness to down Lustre, 63-30, during non-conference play in Lustre on Thursday, Jan. 5. A 17-footer by Lustre’s Alexa Reddig ended the quarter with Bainville up by only a 1410 margin. The Lions stayed close early in the second quarter as a drive by Aubri Holzrichter and a basket by Grace Brown off a pass from Reddig

Red Hawks Score Overtime League Victory Over Circle

The Froid/Lake Red Hawks scored nine points in overtime to capture a 62-55 conference victory in Circle on Saturday, Jan. 7. After a 29-29 deadlock at the half, the Red Hawks gained a 42-39 advantage in the third quarter. Mason Dethman and Landon Kelm each connected for three-pointers in the quarter. Regulation ended at 53-53. The Red Hawks held Circle to two points in the extra period.

Two previously undefeated teams squared off when Bainville traveled to Lustre for a boys’ basketball showdown on Thursday, Jan. 5. Lustre took control in the middle two quarters for a 65-39 victory. The Bulldogs, led by the scoring of Ayden Knudsen and Alex Strickland, played close with the top-ranked Lions throughout the first quarter. Lustre held a 15-11 advantage at the end of the period.
