This week, the Montana Department of Transportation and Knife River will continue pouring concrete for curbs, sidewalks and driveways throughout the project area.
During the week of Aug. 28, work will occur Monday through Thursday, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. Work will be paused over the weekend for the Labor Day holiday and resume the following Tuesday, Sept.

An unidentified man died in a three-vehicle crash when his vehicle went on fire on U.S. Highway 2 west of Wolf Point on Saturday night.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the male was driving a Mazda MZ6 westbound on the eastbound lane to cause the crash that occurred at about 8:30 p.m. near mile marker 584.
Alcohol and speed are suspected causes of the crash.

A tiny art show is underway at the Fort Peck Community College James E. Shanley Tribal Library.
Participants are invited to grab a tiny canvas from the library to take home and use. All mediums are acceptable. Return completed projects to the library by Thursday, Sept. 7.
All ages are welcome to participate. There will be four age groups: 2-5, 6-11, 1218 and 19 and over.
Art will be displayed

In response to growing concerns regarding property tax increases resulting from high residential reappraisals, Beaverhead County has officially reached out to Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen seeking an opinion on the interpretation of laws related to property tax levies.
Their request is supported by the Montana Association of Counties, demonstrating a unified concern amongst county officials

Once again, the Thomas and Corinne Nyquist Foundation is accepting applications from nonprofit organizations in Bainville, Culbertson and Froid, and in New Paltz, N.Y., for funding for small community projects with a deadline for applications of Nov. 1.
Calls for Nyquist Foundation grants are made once a year, and grants are awarded to eligible 503(c) private or governmental nonprofit organizations

The department received applications where applicants entered banking information for direct deposit that does not match banking
