In a battle of District 3C heavyweights, Scobey edged Lustre, 40-37, in boys’ basketball action on Saturday, Jan. 18. The visiting Spartans led 12-7 at the end of the first quarter. Poplar dropped both conference basketball games in Fairview on Saturday, Jan. 18. In the boys’ game, Fairview scored a 62-51 victory. Brockton earned a 5752 boys’ basketball victory during action in Bainville on Saturday, Jan. 18. The Warriors got off to a 14-4 advantage, but Bainville cut the gap to 27-22 at the half. Brockton gained a 45-29 lead in the third quarter. The Bulldogs fought back with 23 points in the fourth quarter but came up five points short. Top scorers for the Warriors were Jarid Fasthorse Jr.
