The Lustre Lions swept basketball games against Frazer on Saturday, Jan. 7. Lustre’s girls downed the Bearcubs by a 52-39 margin. The Lions took a 16-6 lead in the first quarter, but the Bearcubs closed the gap to 21-16 in the second quarter. The Poplar Indians got off to a great start but lost at Plentywood by a 51-45 margin on Tuesday, Jan. 3. Poplar jumped out to a 16-2 lead in the non-conference contest and held a 23-18 halftime advantage. “We just went flat,” Poplar coach Gib Medicine Cloud said. “It was our first game coming off the long Christmas break. We didn’t take care of the little things that we need to.”
