Lustre’s girls’ basketball team lost to powerhouse North Country, 55-10, at home on Friday, Feb. 10. The Maverick took a 22-0 lead in the first half. The margin was 30-3 at half-time. North Country held a 42-5 advantage after three quarters of play. Lustre’s boys’ basketball team ended the regular season undefeated as the Lions earned a 66-23 victory in Dodson on Saturday, Feb. 11. Wolf Point’s boys’ basketball squad struggled offensively and lost at Glendive, 57-32, on Thursday, Feb. 10. The Red Devils led 12-4 at the end of the first quarter and by a 22-13 half-time margin. Wolf Point native Tori Nygard has qualified for the NAIA national indoor track meet. Nygard, competing for Dickinson State University in North Dakota, hit the automatic qualifying mark when she had a best of 54-07 in the weight throw during the weekend.
