The Poplar Indians lost a hard-fought 48-24 home game against Wibaux during eight-man football action on Thursday, Sept. 21. On their first offensive play, the Indians scored on a 60-yard pass from Kameron Reum to Adrian Matuck. Poplar’s other touchdowns in the contest came on a 23yard throw from William Youngman to Matuck, a sixyard pass from Youngman to Reum and an eight-yard run by Reum.

The Poplar Indians dropped a league match in straight sets against Fairview on Friday, Sept. 22. Fairview won by a 25-17, 2514, 25-18, final. The Indians will travel to Lodge Grass Friday, Sept. 29.

The Froid/Lake Red Hawks picked up a league victory during action at Lustre Christian on Thursday, Sept. 21. The Red Hawks got off to a good start with a 25-14 victory in the first set. Poplar’s football team lost to top-ranked Fairview by a 61-12 final in Fairview on Thursday, Sept. 14. Fairview struck for 20 points in the first quarter on two touchdown passes and an interception return for a score. The Warriors increased their lead to 45-10 in the second quarter. Fairview scored on three passes and one run in the period. Fairview led 55-6 after three quarters of play.
