Wolf Point’s new police chief is expected to start his duties leading the Wolf Point Police Department by the end of this month. Mayor Chris Dschaak said that Anthony Cambridge is anticipated to start on Aug. 31. Cambridge is certified as a law officer in Vermont and Pennsylvania, but he needs to go through equivalency type training, Peace Officer Standards and Training, in Helena.

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 132 calls during July 28 to Aug. 4. A 22-year-old Utah man with northeast Montana ties died early Thursday morning, July 31, in a crash in Iron County in southern Utah. Tristin Vandall has been identified as the victim by Utah law enforcement. Jeremy Lee Boysun was sentenced during one of the hearing in district court in front of Judge Benjamin Fosland on Tuesday, July 29. Boysun changed his plea to guilty on June 11 for the charge of criminal possession of dangerous drugs. At the time, a pre-sentencing investigation was ordered. Based on a joint plea agreement, Boysun received a deferred imposition of sentence of four years.

School starts for Lustre Grade School students on Wednesday, Aug. 18.
