Poplar Flea Market Seeks Indoor Space


Bainville’s Diane Panasuk has been hosting an ongoing flea market in Poplar whenever weather and vendors cooperate. She and other vendors from the Bainville area set up shop on the east side of Tribal Express in Poplar, south of U.S. Highway 2. While the pandemic is forcing closures and event cancellations around the region, the flea market, situated outdoors, continues to pop up regularly.

IHS Reports Active Cases Down, 25 Deaths


As of Monday, Nov. 2, Roosevelt County had 68 current active cases of COVID-19. A total of cases with 30 deaths have been reported. There were two new positive cases in the county. As of Tuesday, Nov. 3, there were 69 active cases of COVID-19 in Indian Health Service-eligible persons living on the Fort Peck Reservation. Twenty-five tribally enrolled members have died from COVID-19-related causes.

Froid/Lake Takes Second At District


The Froid/Lake Red Hawks put up a good fight but lost to Plentywood, 16-25, 16-25, 16-25, in the District 1C volleyball tournament’s championship match on Saturday, Oct. 31. The Red Hawks will enter the Eastern C divisional tournament as the second seed from District 1-C. They will face Circle at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, in Sidney. Froid/Lake Downs Fusion Team


The Froid/Lake Red Hawks clinched a berth to the divisional volleyball tournament with a hard-fought home victory over Richey/Lambert on Thursday, Oct. 29. The District 1C tournament match, played in Medicine Lake, featured a strong start by the Red Hawks in the opening set as an ace by Kinsey Rasmussen along with the net play of Sydney Dethman and Dasani Nesbit led to an 8-2 lead.
