Poplar Loses Final Game To Fairfield
After a strong first half, Poplar’s boys’ basketball season came to an end at the Northern B divisional tournament in Shelby on Saturday, March 4.
Fairfield outscored the Indians by a 73-62 final margin during loser-out action on Saturday morning. Poplar jumped out to a 13-11 lead in the first quarter and then hit 22 points in the second quarter for a 3528 half-time advantage.

The Poplar Indians enjoyed a strong start and downed Shelby, 63-43, at the Northern B divisional boys’ basketball tournament in Shelby on Friday, March 3.
The Indians jumped out to a 20-7 advantage in the loser-out contest. Poplar held a 33-20 lead at intermission and then increased the gap to 47-30 during the third quarter.

Poplar Drops Contest Against Cut Bank
The Poplar Indians put up a good battle but fell to Cut Bank, 47-43, in the opening round of the Northern B divisional boys’ basketball tournament in Shelby on Thursday, March 2.
Cut Bank took an 8-6 lead in the first quarter and increased the margin to 21-17 at the half.
Cut Bank held a 34-32 advantage after three quarters of play and held on for the first-round victory.
