Defendants Sentenced During Hearings

Three sentences were among the hearings that were conducted in district court in Wolf Point May 23.

Joshua Edward Franke received a three-year deferred imposition of sentence for the offense of criminal possession of dangerous drugs. He was also fined $1,037.

Thea Jo Michaelsen received a five-year deferred imposition of sentence for possession of dangerous drugs and a one-year suspended sentence for the misdemeanor charge of cruelty to animals.

The county attorney’s office remarked that officials have been impressed with how Michaelsen has turned her life around after being charged with the offenses.

Lorenzo Dean Valencia received a five-year suspended sentence for theft. He was ordered to pay $14,540 in restitution to the Sherman Inn. He was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine.

Matthew Lavelle Harris changed his plea to nolo contendere for the charges of attempted escape and criminal mischief.
