In Froid’s municipal election for two town council positions on Tuesday, Nov. 4, incumbents Tyler Harris and Laurie Young were each re-elected. Unofficial election results were Harris with 44 votes, Young with 41 votes, Robert Corbell with 22 votes and Penny Ryder with 14 votes.

The Culbertson Town Council held its regular meeting on Monday, Nov. 10, at the town hall. Following claims and action items, council members shared updates from the municipal bathhouse project. Erin and Cody Rhodes hosted an informative meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the Culbertson Town Hall to discuss complaints against Culbertson School District staff and administration. The meeting lasted approximately an hour. Rhodes told the Community News, “I feel the meeting went well and was very productive.” She said she thought attendance was affected by perceived “fear of retaliation.”

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 91 cases during Nov. 3-10. The calls included the following: Nov. 3 Deputies responded to the Poplar city limits for a report of a burglary. The house, where three alleged murders took place in September was boarded up by family members. The report was that someone broke into the house and stole about $1,000 worth of jewelry and beadwork.
