The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 92 calls from Sept. 17-24. Anyone cited or arrested is presumed innocent. The calls included: Sept. 17 A deputy stopped a 2005 Dodge Journey from Washington at 10 a.m. and gave the driver a written warning for speeding. A deputy stopped a vehicle at 10:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 2 mile marker 658 and gave the driver a written warning for speeding.

A carrier who delivered mail for the U.S. Postal Service was sentenced Monday, Sept. 25, after she admitted to stealing mail from her route in search of cash and gift cards from more than 90 victims, U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich said in a news release. Eight people were involved in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of N.D.
