The Bainville Town Council held its regular meeting Sept. 9. Proponents of Native American’s voting rights filed a lawsuit last week against Roosevelt and Valley counties for failure to provide adequate satellite voting offices in Poplar and Frazer. The Roosevelt County commissioners renewed the county’s lease with the Motor Vehicle Division during their meeting held on Tuesday, Oct. 1. The lease will run from Jan. 1, 2015, to Dec. 31, 2029. “We don’t charge them. We use it as a service to Roosevelt County,” Commissioner Gordon Oelkers said.
