Bainville Boys Down Fusion, 47-42

The Bainville Bulldogs accounted for nine of the game’s final 11 points to capture a 47-42 league victory over Richey/Lambert on Friday, Jan. 9.

After trailing 9-4 at the end of the first quarter, the Bulldogs ran off 18 points in the second period for a 22-16 lead.

The Fusion fought back with 16 points in the third quarter for a 32-32 deadlock.

Bainville came through in the clutch with 15 points in the fourth period for a fivepoint victory. Down by a 40-38 score, the Bulldogs tied the game on a basket off a rebound by Kaiden Holmes with 3:07 remaining.

A 14-footer by Parker Berwick and two free tosses by Rowan Wilson put the Bulldogs in the lead. After the Fusion’s Sy Carda hit a shot for a 44-42 game, Berwick scored with 1:17 remaining.

A free throw by Berwick put the margin at 47-42 with only 10 seconds left.

Top scorers for the Bulldogs were Berwick with 21 and Evan Anderson with 11 points.

Also scoring were Holmes with eight, Wilson with four and Holden Salivar with three.

Quaid Marshall led the Fusion with nine points. Beau Mullin, Carda and Trace Fulton added seven points each.
