School Board Approves Hires, Co-op

The Culbertson School Board met in regular session on Monday, Oct. 20, at 6:30 p.m. Trustees present were Chris Petersen, chair; Lisa Steppler, and Verlin Steppler. Representatives were Nicole Simonsen and Lora Finnicum. Visitors were recognized.

A motion was approved to pay the October bills, approve investments, note cash and extra-curricular balances. Reports were presented with no additions. Several staff members attended the Capturing Hearts Conference in Bozeman. A guest in physical education was teaching and playing rugby with students. Simonsen reported that the local stock grower’s association would again be donating $2,000 to purchase local beef.

A motion was approved to hire Annie Waldow, Shirley Marchwick and Megan West as guest teachers, pending background checks.

A motion was passed to approve graduation date and time for May 16, 2026, at 2 p.m.

The speech and drama cooperative was approved to include Bainville Schools.

A motion was passed to approve the indemnity bonds for payroll warrants #3368, $23.09 and #3394, $161.70.

Policies 1014FE, 1014FEF( 1), 1111, 1210, 1310, 1700, 2132, 3141, 3410, 3612, and 2162-P(1) was approved in first reading.

Next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 6:30 p.m.
