Wagon Train Pulls 80 Attendees

The Culbertson Saddle Club hosted its annual two-day Labor Day Weekend Wagon Train event over the holiday weekend. This year marked the 57th installment.
Attendees took advantage of cool weather to enjoy some scenery, make a few new friends and catch up with old ones out on the trail. The saddle club’s Pam Arneson told the Community News the event was well attended, including participants who joined the train via combustion engine for a Saturday supper.
“The wagon train went great,” Arneson said. “We had about 80 attendees, many extras for supper and eight wagons. We had perfect weather and great food. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the trail and the weekend.”
Scobey’s Wanda Tade echoed Arneson about the pleasant weather. “Both days were great weather and scenery,” said Tade. She complimented saddle club organizers for running an orderly schedule. “The first day we went close to 15 miles and maybe 12 on day two. We left camp everyday at 9 a.m. We got back at 4 p.m. yesterday and around 3 p.m. today. Very well organized.”
Bainville’s Abby Picard spoke to this newspaper after the event wrapped up on Labor Day. “We all agreed that the weekend went by too fast and the kids are asking how many days until next time,” said Picard. “It was a beautiful ride with perfect weather. We are so thankful that the saddle club works hard to keep this tradition alive.”
