Gas Prices Increase Slightly

Average gasoline prices in Montana have risen 0.6 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.24/g on Monday, Sept. 1, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 615 stations in Montana. Prices in Montana are unchanged versus a month ago and stand 17.7 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has increased 1.4 cents compared to a week ago and stands at $3.665 per gallon.

According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Montana was priced at $2.88/g on Sunday, Aug. 31, while the most expensive was $4.19/g, a difference of $1.31/g.

The national average price of gasoline has fallen 3.4 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.15/g on Monday. The national average is up 1.6 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 13.1 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country.
