Culbertson School Board Holds Meeting

The Culbertson School Board met in pre-session for budget training on Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 5:20 p.m. and met in regular session at 6:30 p.m.

Trustees present were chair Chris Petersen, Wendy Becker, Amber Fox, Lisa Steppler and Verlin Steppler. Representatives were Nicole Simonsen, Janessa Parenteau and Lora Finnicum. Visitors were recognized.

Reports were presented with no additions. A motion was passed to adopt policy 5140 classified employment and assignment.

Amanda Sager was approved for the guest teacher list for 2025-26.

Budgets for 2025-2026 were presented and approved.

The junior class was approved for high school gym cleaning at $125 per event.

A motion was approved for an adjustment of 20.8 miles per day to bus route #2.

Extracurricular contracts were approved for the following: Ronnie Shanks for junior high girls’ basketball assistant coach, Perla Burciaga for elementary girls’ basketball assistant coach and April Wills for sixth grade class advisor.

A motion was passed to post policy 2320 field trips, excursions and outdoor education.

The next meeting is scheduled for Sept. 16, with budget training postponed.
