Gustafson, Whitehawk Face Drug Possession Charges
Brian Ray Gustafson and Cheryle Roberta Whitehawk of Culbertson have been charged with criminal possession of dangerous drugs (meth), a felony, and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
According to court documents, after Gustafson was arrested on authority of a warrant on April 5, law enforcement saw a small plastic baggie on the ground. The baggie contained about a third-gram of suspected meth. Gustafson later admitted ownership of the baggie.
A urinalysis of Gustafson tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine use.
According to court documents when Whitehawk was arrested on authority of a Justice Court warrant, she had a small, brown purse in her hand. Whitehawk claimed it wasn’t her purse. She said that the purse and its contents belonged to Brian Gustafson.
When the purse was searched at the Roosevelt County Detention Center, a 6-inch clear methamphetamine pipe that had apparent burnt methamphetamine residue was found.
