Crash Kills Two In Sheridan County
Two individuals died in a crash in Sheridan County on Saturday, April 19.
Fatality victims were a 76-year-old female from Grenora, N.D., identified as Heidi Blanchfield, and another female passenger in the Honda Accord.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, a Ford F150 was traveling westbound on Secondary Road 517 with two occupants, and the Honda Accord was heading eastbound with three occupants. The Ford collided head-on with the Accord at mile marker 1. Both vehicles exited the roadway to the north where both overturned at least once. All occupants were transported to Sheridan Memorial Hospital.
The two passengers in the Accord were pronounced deceased at the hospital. Speed and failure to maintain the correct lane of travel are suspected to be the primary factors of the crash, which occurred at 4:20 p.m.
Occupants in the Ford were a 46-year-old male and a 10-year-old female, each from Plentywood.
