Richland Federal Credit Union Closes Out 2023, Looks Ahead With 84th Annual Meeting

Richland Federal Credit Union held their 84th annual business meeting Tuesday, April 16, at the Saint Matthews Center in Sidney.

Members heard reports from president Beth Redlin, CEO Korey Hagan, operations and accounting manager Sharon Roth and vice president of lending Corliss Nelson.

Among the topics highlighted was the $300,000 bonus dividend for 2023 distributed in March of this year. It was noted that, as the only locally owned and governed financial institution, this money stays and is reinvested in our field of membership communities. Also highlighted were new products and services continuously being developed for members and the beginning of a time of transition, reinvestment and change for RFCU.

Recognized was retired board director and vice president Toby Panasuk. New leaders welcomed were Jessica Chamberlin on the supervisory committee and Kagney Petersen as a board director.

After serving out his brief appointed term, Petersen was unanimously re-elected to a new term.

After earning a masters in taxation, Petersen applied that knowledge to corporate organizations in Washington, D.C., and Denver, Colo. In 2014, he returned to Sidney with his wife, Brittney, (who is the health director at Richland County Health Department) and their three children to continue the family farm legacy. Petersen is also lending his knowledge and experience wherever he can in his hometown, including a new seasonal tax accountant position with CHMS. You are likely to run into Kagney and Brittney anywhere there is an event or activity for their children.
