Senior Profile
Bainville High School senior Carter Winn keeps busy with a variety of school activities ranging from Business Professionals of America to athletics.
His events in BPA this year have included desktop publishing, banking and finance and being on the global marketing team. He placed fifth in advanced desktop publishing and seventh in banking and finance.
“I really like being on the global marketing team. It’s more fun to do things with others,” Winn said.
Bainville earned first at the regional meet in the global marketing team division and is preparing for the state conference. “I thought we did pretty well,” Winn said of the regional performance. He has been a member of the National Honor Society since being inducted as a sophomore. He serves as Bainville chapter’s vice president this year.
He enjoyed helping the National Honor Society hold a recent blood drive in Bainville.
For sports, Winn is a member of Bainville’s boys’ basketball team this winter and will try golf this spring.
He is looking forward to the Bulldogs ending the basketball season on a strong note. “We’re hoping to make it to divisionals at least,” Winn said. “I hope we can figure things out.”
For the first time, Winn served as the volleyball team’s manager this fall.
“It was cool to be part of something in the fall,” Winn said. “I liked to be helping and keeping stats.”
During the school day, his favorite class is anatomy.
He says he can’t pick a favorite teacher. “All of my teachers are really good,” Winn said.
Winn has attended school in Bainville since kindergarten. “I really like the people here,” Winn explained. “The people are fun. There’s never any bullying or big problems here.”
After high school, he plans to attend Minot State University and study to become a radiology technician.
“I’ve always been interested in the health care field, but I don’t like blood,” Winn explained.
