In the regular-season finale for both squads, Bainville swept three sets against Froid/Lake on Tuesday, Oct. 17. The Bulldogs won the home match by a 25-9, 25-16, 25-17, margin.

The hard hitting of Brecklyn Pippenger and serving of Elsie Wilson led the Bulldogs to a quick 5-0 lead in the opening set. The net play of Jaeleigh Davidson kept the Red Hawks close, but tips by B. Pippenger and a back-row kill by Elsie Wilson produced a 16-7 margin.

A block by B. Pippenger and a kill by Hailey Berwick increased the gap to 19-7. Bainville kept rolling as kills by Lila Butikofer and B. Pippenger, along with an ace by Wilson, put the margin at 227.

Froid/Lake struck back on a kill by Isabelle Nordwick, but the Bulldogs went on to take a 25-9 victory.

Kills by Mara Salvevold and Davidson resulted in tight play early in the second set. A kill by Butikofer and a tip by Kendra Romo put Bainville into the lead. The margin increased to 13-6 on a spike by Berwick and an ace by Kendra Romo.

After a kill by I. Nordwick closed the gap to 16-10, the Bulldogs responded with the next three points including kills by Miah Pippenger and B. Pippenger.

A very hard smash by B. Pippenger put the gap at 2013 en route to Bainville’s 25-16 win.

An ace by Froid/Lake’s Brooklyn Nordwick cut Bainville’s lead to 13-11 in the third set. After the Bulldogs grabbed an 18-12 advantage on an ace by Berwick and a kill by M. Pippenger, the Red Hawks responded with a kill by Davidson.

Kills and an ace by B. Pippenger led Bainville to a 23-16 lead.

Ahead by a 23-17 margin, the Bulldogs’ Wilson accounted for the last two points on a tip by kill.

The district tournament begins Thursday, Oct. 26, in Plentywood.
