Culbertson Track Athletes Place During Indoor Meet In Williston

Some track athletes from Culbertson opened their season at an indoor meet in Williston, N.D., on Friday, March 24.

Kayli Olson finished third in the 800 at 2:57.44. She took third in the long jump at 1203.

Mariana Burciaga placed fourth in the long jump at 1102 and fifth in the shot put at 20-07.

Jennifer Guzman finished eighth in the 200 with a time of 36.6 seconds.

In the boys’ division, Reese Moon finished first in the 60 at 7.37 seconds. Also placing in the race for the Cowboys were Carson Solem in 11th and Colin Avance in 14th.

Advance earned second place in the shot put at 41-03.

Mathew Wadsworth placed fifth in the 400 at 1:07.64. Leland Pirkle took sixth in the 800 at 2:59.06.

Placing in the 60-meter hurdles race were Trevor Miller in third at 10.81 seconds, Solem in fifth at 11.03 and Pirkle in sixth at 12.91.

Culbertson’s 800-meter relay team of Wadsworth, Solem, Moon and Miller finished third with a time of 1:42.00.

Culbertson’s 1600-meter relay team consisting of Solem, Miller, Wadsworth and Pirkle earned second place at 4:33.06.

Moon took sixth at 17-11 and Solem was seventh at 17-05 in the long jump. Miller placed eighth at 16-08 and Wadsworth took 10th at 16-01.

Moon captured third place in the triple jump with a mark of 35-08.
