While some of her fellow classmates were thinking about which college to attend, Culbertson’s Cody Larsen was making different plans. Larsen, a 2021 Culbertson High School graduate, decided a better path for her was joining the National Guard. She noted that one of the reasons for her decision was the influence of her step-father, Mike Williams, who served as a military police solider.

County Commissioners’ Candidates To Be Decided June 20

A process has been determined to break a possible tie in the Roosevelt County commissioners’ election. The commissioners will hold a meeting on Monday, June 20, to canvass the votes. Unofficial primary election results included Robert D. Toavs with 188 votes, Edward L. Bach and Ken E. Hentges each received 86 votes. Craig Karge had 70 votes. After the canvass meeting, a recount will take place

Voters Favor Excise Taxes In Primary Election

By Bill Vander Weele Roosevelt County residents voted in favor of establishing local option excise taxes for both medical and non-medical marijuana during the primary election on Tuesday, June 7. Adding a 3 percent special local option tax on non-medical marijuana sold in the county passed by a margin of 1,161 to 363. The option tax for medical marijuana was approved by a 941 to 579 margin.
