County Commissioners’ Candidates To Be Decided June 20

A process has been determined to break a possible tie in the Roosevelt County commissioners’ election.

The commissioners will hold a meeting on Monday, June 20, to canvass the votes. Unofficial primary election results included Robert D. Toavs with 188 votes, Edward L. Bach and Ken E. Hentges each received 86 votes. Craig Karge had 70 votes. After the canvass meeting, a recount will take place that day. If there’s still a tie after the recount, the candidates will agree how to break the tie. A coin toss is a likely way to break the tie.

Toavs and the second-place primary candidate will be on the general election ballot on Nov. 8.
